| Supply Chain Improvement |
Overview |
|
Improving a process as complex as the supply-chain can be daunting, as companies are challenged with finding ways to meet ever-rising customer expectations at a manageable cost. To do so, businesses must identify which parts of their supply-chain process are not competitive, understand which customer needs are not being met, establish improvement goals, and implement necessary improvements.
The aim is to develop and maintain a standard supply chain process with suppliers and partners which optimizes production, reduces manufacturing time, streamlines order fulfilment and reduces overall costs.
|
What We Do |
- Analyze the business in terms of activity based costings.
Work through the elements of the current supply chain flows, step by step.
- Assess the relationships you have with your suppliers (inbound logistics), and consider issues such as whether you might increase the percentage of suppliers you have contracts with.
- Analyze the outbound logistics, looking at issues such as flexibility and the business’ ability to meet changes in market demand.
Analyze your operations, assessing the level and type of quality assurance system in place.
- Analyze the way you provide services - whether it is consistent with the market appeal of your product or service.
- Assess each of the primary activities in terms of the business’ supplementary activities – procurement, HR, technology and infrastructure.
- Consider issues such as whether software can give the business better information on production processes, whether the right team structure is in the place and whether the business is hiring the right kind of people.
- Define supply chain targets, quantify benefits and prioritize revised processes.
