Team Focus Groups

Overview

The team members of a business are a critical stakeholder group in terms of making a contribution to business success. Dissatisfied or misinformed teams tend to perform below their capabilities, leave their jobs relatively quickly and are not very likely to recommend the business to others.

Conducting focus groups with the team is an effective way of discovering how people feel about working for the business. This process will also allow the business owner to test their own beliefs about the quality of their business’ culture and operational efficiency against the perceptions of the team members themselves.

When management’s opinions and perceptions are aligned with those of the team you can expect to improve productivity, motivation, and, of course, the bottom line.

What We Do

  • The owners/managers are asked for their opinions on issues related to the business – its structure, procedures and performance.
  • The team is divided into smaller focus groups according to the requirements of the project (e.g. by age, role in the business, gender, etc.).
  • Focus groups are held to elicit team members’ opinions on issues related to the business; an external facilitator guides each focus group.
  • A comparison is made of the opinions of owners/managers with those of the team members.
